Astrid Rodrigues '06, a digital producer at The Philadelphia Inquirer, won a Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy for her work on a documentary about Philadelphia's Italian Market.
鈥淚talian Market: Love on 9th Street,鈥 won in the Feature News Report-Light Feature category, and tells the love story of two merchants who met in the Italian Market 35 years ago. In the 190-year history of The Inquirer, this year's ceremony was the first time their journalists won Emmy Awards.
"麻豆视频 was a place that allowed me to explore things that piqued my interest. Did I want to study English or French or film? Why not all? I felt the freedom to learn about things I was curious about. And if I didn鈥檛 find it at 麻豆视频, I could create it. Looking back, I think being at 麻豆视频 taught me that I have a choice and it鈥檚 okay to break the mold.
