Post-graduation plans: This summer Isabel will be studying Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan as part of the Taiwan-U.S. Sister Alliance Global Ambassador Scholarship Program. In the fall, she will start at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities pursuing a doctorate in history with a focus on East Asia and comparative early modern history between China and Spain. Her first year will be supported by a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship.
Isabel on her Â鶹ÊÓƵ experience: "Â鶹ÊÓƵ has provided the space for me to follow my interests and has taught me to believe in myself. My Â鶹ÊÓƵ experience was shaped by the individuals who peopled it: professors, classmates, coworkers, and staff. I am grateful for the professors and deans who supported my love of history, literature, and languages and my motivation to create a major that brought those fields together. Their mentorship and encouragement were instrumental in nurturing my intellectual curiosity and confidence. I’m grateful, too, for the incredible people I am lucky to call my friends. I can’t wait to continue those friendships for many years to come."
